Kalbadevi Road (Code: 215) – Mounted Photo Print

$ 46$ 77

Kalbadevi Road starts near Metro Cinema and continues up to Bhuleshwar Road and further to the Khetwadi road. At the further end of Kalbadevi, near, is the  erstwhile Cotton Exchange, the market for cotton trade. Hindu immigrants from Gujarat and Rajasthan settled in the Kalbadevi area in sizable numbers in the 17th and 18th centuries. Those who prospered built temples, baghs and Jain Deras. The colorfully painted houses in the precinct drew inspiration from the vernacular architecture of Gujarat and Rajasthan. The buildings here present a typical Bombay usage pattern with shops and bazaars on the ground level, while floors above are used for residential purpose
